love in Your eyes

Hi Friend,

As we walk through the sacred days of Holy Week, we remember the road Jesus walked—marked by betrayal, sorrow, love, and ultimate grace.

Today, we pause with the ache and the longing in our own stories... and look to find love in His eyes.

Some time ago, I sat down at the keys and this song spilled out. It was raw and it tapped into emotions I was wrestling with.

But as I started playing I had this sense of ease and freedom.

Something about this felt familiar...I've had this experience before...it felt spontaneous...

Not me...God did this.

The best I can express it...

It had the taste of

a silent sigh

of a weeping world.

When you feel the weight of your own weakness

and long for grace to meet you,

maybe this is for you.

As you listen, remember that His love is always watching over you with kindness and mercy.

love in Your eyes

I long for what's pure

I long for what's true

I long for what's good

it's all in You

oh but I know

that I cannot be

close to as pure

and as true

and as good

as I need to be

oh but I try

and I fall

and I cry

and I call You

and ask

and receive

and I stand

and believe

and I thrive

for a while

and I like

how that feels

till I fall on my face...

and look up to heaven

for grace

and long for what's pure

long for what's true

long for what's good

it's all in You

how tragically weak

we humans must seem

not nearly

pure enough

or true enough

or good enough

to live up to Your dream

oh but we try

and we fall

and we cry

and we call You

and ask

and receive

and we stand

and believe

and we thrive

for a while

and we like

how that feels

till we fall

on our faces...

and look up to Heaven

for Grace

(piano interlude)

but I know there is

love in Your eyes

even so there is

love in Your eyes

who'd have thought there'd be

love in Your eyes

and help for

the human condition

na na na na na na na na na

(humming)

ah ah ah na na la ah

na na na na na na na na

hope

for the human

Maybe you find yourself

somewhere in this song today...

longing for what’s pure and good and true…

trying

and falling

and calling out

for grace.

And how beautiful it is

that He meets us right now...

in the ache,

in the reach,

in the fall...

with Love in His eyes...

My grace is always

more than enough for you,

and My power finds its full expression

through your weakness.

2 Corinthians 12:9

So maybe today is not about trying harder,

but trusting deeper.

Maybe it's about looking up again...

not with fear, but with a quiet kind of hope.

The kind that says,

there is hope…

for the human...

for me...

We'll be posting more music and stories this Holy Week. We hope they will be a companion for you as we journey towards Easter.

Peace and grace be with you,

gregrinne

Listening while fluffy snowfakes blanket our yard in Montana. Taking deep, peaceful breaths and feeling grateful. Love to you, Greg and Rinne!
