MEET GREG AND CORINNE

Well, let's start with this:

We met in Arlington Heights, IL, at a Forest View High School choir alumni party when Greg was a 19 year old college boy, and Corinne was a 16 year old high school junior. Yesss,  jokes about “robbing the cradle” were flung about—and we just smiled. We became fast friends and soul mates. Music had already long been planted in our veins when we were still in our cribs—our homes always buzzing with styles from classical to R&B to you name it.

With scholarships in hand —Greg in voice and Corinne in piano—we drove off to college together in an old beat-up Ford LTD—and married soon after.

Newly married, we were inspired by new paths that opened up to us in the Chicago recording studio scene.

Then, after a friend nearly pleaded with us to "check out this new church", 1984 found us walking through the doors of a soon to be megachurch in a northwest suburb of Chicago. It was never on our radar that God would completely change the trajectory of our lives. To know more, see Willow.

After 30 years of devoting our lives to church ministry and leadership conferences around the world, we stepped back into freelance work.

Then the direction of our lives took a dramatic turn. To know more, see Where We Are and How We Got Here

Through all these years, we've continued to be best friends and soul mates. We bring out the best in each other as we follow Jesus—writing, singing, recording, producing, coaching, and directing side by side.

Every year we have a little tradition of celebrating our anniversary with two numbers. This past November 23rd, we celebrated 48 years together: 43 years married—we dated for 5 years. We love that our anniversary landed on Thanksgiving Day this year. Just perfect. :-)

FOR YOU

And that brings us to now. Our blogsite and this community with you, friend.

We all carry hard stories in our souls and in our bones. Many hidden. Some known. Your story matters to Jesus and you are not alone.

We're so glad you're here and we'd like to leave you with this:

==============

In the midst of all that's going on in the world and each of our lives, Rinne and I found ourselves “climbing inside” The Lord's Prayer, and again attempting a paraphrase of it—to center our spirits.  We hope this might give words to what your soul may want to say. Here's what we scrawled out-

Father God

May You be honored and prized in my heart above everything.

Have perfect power over this fragile world, and over me too-

just like you do everything in the infinite universe.

Give us digestible portions of what we need today.

Don't hold my human stumblings and faults against me,

and I'll do my best not to hold the humanity of others against them.

Don't let me be swept away by careless shortcuts and temptations that would compromise away that which is most precious, and would feed that which is most destructive.

Because everything and everyone belongs to You, including me,

and that's forever.

So be it

Amen
